Why do I need a generating set?

” Well, if you have no other power source, you’d definitely need a generating set. You’d also need one if the capacity from your commercial supplier is insufficient to meet your requirements. And finally, you need one as backup power, that way you don’t have to put a stop to your operation because of loss of commericial power.”

What type and size of generating set do I need?

There are many types of generating sets. You’ve got single phase or three phase, petrol, diesel or gas engines, manual or automatic start, open or acoustic canopy.The size of the generator you need depends on the list of items the generator is going to run.

How are the sizes of generating sets measured?

Generating sets are measured according to how much power they can generate. The unit of this power is kVA or kW. The higher the power a generating set produces, the higher it’s rank and vice versa.
